Full Day Cruise to Chalki Island (Tuesday)

Chalki is a small island located 9 kms west of Rhodes Island. It is known as the island of peace and friendship due to the international meeting of young people from all over the world that takes place at the beginning of each September. Halki island is a great destination for peaceful holidays but also a great place to visit for a daily trip from Rhodes. The island combines the authentic and idyllic atmosphere of the Greek Islands with amazing beaches and charming landscapes such as the capital small village of the island named Nimporio. The seafront village is lined up with cafeterias, restaurants, and shops, while it is the best place to enjoy long walks by the sea as well where the island's port is also located. Nimporio boasts beautiful traditional architecture with beautiful Venetian buildings, beautiful white houses & has been declared a Heritage Town. Is a pleasure to walk-through narrow alleys with wonderful colorfully painted houses and pretty courtyards paved with black and white stone mosaic floors, along the adorable harbor where are traditional Greek taverns and coffee Shops. You should sit down and enjoy your coffee in wonderful sight on gorgeous fishing boats anchored floating in the transparent turquoise sea full of fishes. A visual paradise for the senses and the soul! Among the buildings prevails the imposing high stone clock tower, next to which is the white Neoclassical building of the Town Hall. Nearby, the grand bell tower of the beautiful church of Agios Nikolaos from 1861 stands out. Agios Nikolaos is the patron saint of the island. In the church courtyard there is a nice black and white stone pebble mosaic. In the church there is an icon carved in wood with beautiful details and exceptional murals. Don’t miss to visit the windmills on top of the hill above the capital. After visiting Nimporio we board on a small boat <Giannis taxi> that drive us in 5 minutes to one of the most beautiful beaches of the island named <Kania beach> that is a pebbled beach situated in picturesque cove protected from the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea by the rugged and rocky coastline where we will have time for swimming in an organize beach bar and a Greek Taverna with sun beds where you can order a selection of homemade Greek Food and a fresh fish with good service and a very warm welcome. Chalki is definitely the best place to be for all beach lovers who want to get their fix. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing and peaceful session under the sun with smaller crowds compared to the more popular beaches found on other islands.

  • Bus transfer from your hotel to the Kamiros Scala Harbour.

  • Departure time is at 09:00

  • On arrival, meet with an escort who will give you all the details for your trip to Chalki Island, the stops and tips to organize the day ahead.

  • About 09:40 arrived at Port of Nimporio which is the main entry point for visitors.

  • 09:40 – 11:00 free time for visit Nimporio Village – Coffee & shopping

  • 11-00 – 15:00 Boarding to Giannis Boat Taxi for reach Kania Beach for swimming/Lunch/ Relaxing.

  • 15:00 Boarding to Giannis Boat taxi for return back to Nimporio Village.

  • 16:00 Departure from Nimporio is scheduled for 16:00 – 16:45 Arrival to Rhodes Kamiros Scala Harbour.

  • Upon arrival to Rhodes, return by coach to hotels.
